1993-Present - The Scotia Group, Dallas, Texas, USA Principal Advisor Reservoir Engineering. Responsibilities include heading engineering aspects of reservoir simulation and large scale field study projects, both foreign and domestic. Projects include field rehabilitation, waterflood and EOR feasibility studies. Ian's extensive experience in these areas complements the Group's innovative approach in analysis techniques and problem solving. In 2007, The Scotia Group was purchased by the worldwide consulting group RPS Energy which maintains RPS Scotia offices in Dallas and Houston, Texas, USA.


1967-1993 McCord-Lewis Energy Services and successors, Vice President. Responsible for large oil field reservoir simulation studies in Algeria, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Iran as well as fields in Canada and the U.S. Worked closely with Statoil planning studies for some of Norway's largest fields. Completed a study of a gas field in South China Sea and initiated a very large study of oil fields in Assam Province of India. Completed a three year research study of fractured reservoir behavior for the U.S. Department of Energy.


1957-1967 Chevron, Canada, Reservoir Engineer. Pioneered a reservoir simulation study of the Leduc D3 complex of reservoirs in Central Alberta.

Richard G. BoyceRichard G. Boyce - Consultant - Exploration Manager

2007 - Consultant to Gentech International Kazakhstan, LLP responsible for the geophysical and geological interpretation, project planning and exploration program implementation for Block XXXI-36.


1996-Present - Principal Geoscientist, dB LLC, a petroleum advisory consultancy based in Dallas, Texas. Since 2002, dB has maintained a comprehensive technical consulting alliance with the RPS Scotia Group, Inc.


Mr. Boyce specializes in the application of advanced geophysical applications in the exploration and development of hydrocarbons. Areas of specialization include reservoir characterization studies that integrate internally generated 3D seismic inversion and other specialized attributes with petrophysical and production data which result in detailed three dimensional geocellular models of oil and gas reservoirs.


During his twenty nine year career in worldwide oil and gas exploration, Dick has developed considerable expertise in all aspects relating to these types of integrated studies including, seismic acquisition, seismic data processing, integrated geological and geophysical workstation interpretation skills and international and domestic project management.


As an explorationist, Mr. Boyce has recent interpretational experience in the deep water margins of West Africa (Nigeria-Sao Tome/Principe JDZ, Sierra Leone and Togo,) east coast of India (Krishna Godavari Basin), and the Gulf of Mexico as well as extensive onshore work in the Middle East (Yemen, UAE and Oman), East Africa (Southern Red Sea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and Kenya), North Africa (Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, Egypt, and Niger), Australia (Cooper Basin) and Kazakhstan (Pre Caspian and Turgay Basins). Previously Mr. Boyce also worked extensively in South America (Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala and Belize). Domestic U.S. and North American experience includes 2D and 3D seismic mapping on the shelf of the Gulf of Mexico, West Texas (Delaware, Midland and Val Verde Basins), South Louisiana Transition Zone, Rocky Mountains (Williston, Paradox, San Juan and Paradox Basins), Canada (Western Newfoundland and Western Canadian Basins) and various unconventional gas plays in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.


1986-1996 Exploration Manager and Chief Geophysicist, Hunt Oil Company. Mr. Boyce began his career with Hunt as exploration geophysicist based in Midland Texas. In 1991, Mr. Boyce transferred to Dallas, Texas where he served as the Chief Geophysicist for Hunt Oil Company and in 1992 was appointed the Exploration Manager for the Yemen Hunt Oil Company and the Exploration Vice President of the Hunt Oil subsidiaries, Ethiopia Hunt Oil and Jannah Hunt Oil. In this position, he was responsible for all aspects of exploration project management including international negotiations and government relations as well as geological, geophysical operations and drilling programs. Mr. Boyce provided the daily operational management for 2D and 3D seismic crews and exploration drilling activities in three remote concession areas. Additionally Mr. Boyce was responsible for maintaining a high quality interface between the Company, its industry partners and the various government officials operating across a wide variety of government ministries in both Yemen and Ethiopia.


1983-1986 Exploration Geophysicist, Conquest Exploration Company, Midland, TX USA. While at Conquest Mr. Boyce was the principal district geophysicist for the Permian Basin of West Texas, generating exploration drilling opportunities for the Company.


1979-1983 Exploration Geophysicist, Superior Oil Company, Houston & Midland, TX USA. Mr. Boyce began his career as a geophysicist for Superior Oil Company with early training at their Geoscience Laboratory in Houston, Texas. In 1980, Mr. Boyce transferred to Midland, Texas to continue working there as a staff exploration geophysicist until 1983.

Responsibilities include local liaison with drilling contractors to assist in the planning and implementation of the 2009 anticipated drilling program on Block XXXI-36. Areas of particular expertise include local liaison with the Kyzylorda Oblast and Ministry of Energy authorities as well as coordination of Company activities related to drilling and service companies located in the project area. Alex will also be advising the Company on issues of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance in the implementation of the drilling program.


2007-Present - Director of Human Resources, Administration, Security and Training, Cameco Corporation, Inkai Joint Venture. Provide full range of HR, Security and Administration management for a uranium mining operation.


2006-2007 - Consultant on Russian Labor Legislation, Human Resources, Administration and Security, Urals Energy Public Company Limited. Provided on all matters of HR, Administration and Security for an oil and gas operations at the Dulisma Field located in Irkutsk, Eastern Siberia. Established relationships with government offices, officials and representatives of law enforcement as well as such bodies as Labor Inspection, Employment Center and RosGortechNadzor.


2004-2006 - Director Human Resources, Administration, Training and Security, PetroKakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC. Provided strong leadership and management to the Human Resources, Administration, Training and Security departments of PetroKazakhstan implementing international best practice standards. Administered the Company's succession planning program to meet the government mandate to nationalize the workforce in all Kazakhstan based operations.


2003-2004 - Security Manager, PetroKazakhstan Oil Products JSC. Managed the work and operations conducted by PetroKazakhstan's corporate Security Contractor (over 190 guards), the Civil Defense staff and the Oil Refinery Security Team at the PKOP refinery in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.


2002-2003 - Exploration Drilling Manager, NIMIR Petroleum (Troy-Ikoda East). Wide range of project management including the preparation and implementation of the drilling work plan, schedule and budget. Set up local offices in Aktau and on the North Buzachi Exploration Area. Conducted bid tenders for construction, civil works, drilling and environmental assessments. Obtained land usage permit and all other necessary government required permits and licenses to carry out the drilling program. Served as manager to implement the drilling plan utilizing a wide range of international drilling consultants, contractors and service companies. Decommissioned well sites with proper disposal of drilling wastes in compliance with the Environmental Norms and Legislation of Kazakhstan. At the conclusion of the project all work was completed safely, with no lost time accidents, on budget and within the project timeline.


2001-2002 - Translator/Asst. Manager for Drilling and Workover Department, Hurricane Kumkol Munai JSC. Provided written translation of highly technical documents and training manuals for the drilling and workover department (English-Russian-English). Verbal translation for Safety Meetings, Production Meetings and with the western consultants in the field. Close cooperation with the training department in the preparation of industrial training materials.


Previously, Alex has work experience providing translation and administration across a broad sector of international business for large companies in Kyrgyzstan including Kumtor Operating Company (gold mining), Caterpillar Equipment Company (construction equipment), Pepsi International (soft drink bottling), Adam Clark Company, LTD (construction), and OWPV (German Import/Export Company).
